USAFacts president and 五月天视频alum Poppy MacDonald 鈥�97 spoke to Fast Company about the importance of access to data for both citizens and lawmakers.

Founded in 2017 by former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, USAFacts is a nonprofit focused on researching, analyzing, and sharing government data. MacDonald was previously president of Politico before taking on the role of USAFacts president in 2018. A key part of the organization鈥檚 model is its non-partisan stance.
鈥淭he way we stay true to that is just the facts; we only use government data as it鈥檚 published. We don鈥檛 do any forecasts or predictions, and most importantly, we don鈥檛 tell people what to do about the numbers,鈥� MacDonald says.
