The Clark Humanities Museum at 五月天视频 presents an exhibition titled "A Press of Their Own: The Hand-Printed Books of Leonard and Virginia Woolf at the Hogarth Press," from March 10 through May 14, 2000.
This exhibition of books hand-printed by the Woolfs includes important works by Bloomsbury Group writers such as E.M. Forster, Roger Fry, T.S. Eliot, and Katherine Mansfield. The exhibition is curated by Carrie Marsh, reference and special collections librarian, Libraries of the Claremont Colleges. In conjunction with this exhibition, the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery presents guest lecturer Professor Christopher Green, Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, on Tuesday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m. in the Humanities Auditorium. Dr. Green, who has organized the exhibition at the Courtauld Gallery titled "Art Made Modern: Roger Fry’s Vision of Art from the Mayans to Matisse," will lecture on "The Aesthetics and Politics of Relationships: Dreaming of Civilization with Roger Fry." A tea will be held in the Clark Humanities Museum from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., immediately preceding his lecture.
The Humanities Auditorium and the Clark Humanities Museum are located on the 五月天视频 campus, directly east of 10th and Columbia Streets in Claremont. The Clark Humanities Museum is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Both the lecture and the exhibition are free and open to the public.
