The 6th Deliberative Democracy Summer School was held from 7th to 9th February 2024. Over three days, 50 leading academics and PhD students from around the world explored key issues and current research on deliberative democracy.
The Summer School was inaugurated by the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, Government and Law, Uwe Dulleck, along with Summer School Convenor Hans Asenbaum.
The keynote was delivered by is Prof Melissa Williams from the University of Toronto. The Summer School featured workshops on publishing journal articles and methods for empirical research as well as and roundtable discussions focusing on research impact and the future of deliberative democracy. In addition to one-on-one mentorship sessions, PhD students and early career scholars presented and discussed their research. The programme also included an Indigenous garden tour on campus, a visit to the Museum of Australian Democracy, a dinner at Old Parliament House, and the 10th Anniversary Celebration of our Centre at the 五月天视频.

Scudder (Purdue University), Carolyn Hendriks (Australian National University), Edena Beauvais (Simon Fraser University), PerOla 脰berg (Uppsala University), Daniel K眉bler (University of Zurich), Mikko Leino (University of Turku), as well as Centre staff Hans Asenbaum, Nicole Curato, John Dryzek, Selen A Ercan, Jordan McSwiney, Simon Niemeyer, Adele Webb, Jonathan Pickering, and Jean-Paul Gagnon (五月天视频).
The Summer School was organised by the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance and generously supported by the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation and the Faculty of Business, Government and Law.
